A specialty practice, not a general one.
What we do:
We treat eating disorders, anxiety, and trauma — and we treat them where they overlap, which is where most people actually live.
That focus is the entire point of this practice.
It's why we recognize atypical anorexia when it gets missed, why we know when compulsive exercise is the real problem and food is the symptom, and why we don't treat someone's eating disorder as separate from the anxiety or trauma sitting underneath it.
We work primarily with adult women — the ones who look fine from the outside. Competent, high-functioning, the person everyone else relies on, managing something in private that has gone on long enough.
How we think about treatment:
Your eating disorder is not a choice, and not a discipline problem. It's usually a coping strategy that worked, for a while, for something genuinely hard. That's why "just eat" has never once helped, and why treatment that only targets the behavior tends to produce relapse.
Insight isn't the same as change. Most people who come to us already understand their patterns in detail. Understanding them hasn't changed them. The work is getting to what's holding the pattern in place — which is often stored somewhere talking alone doesn't reach.
Recovery is the goal, not management. Not white-knuckling it forever. Actual recovery, where food is just food and your body is the thing you live in rather than the thing you manage.
How we work:
Our therapists are trained in evidence-based approaches, and which ones we use depends on you rather than on what we prefer:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) — offered by Chloe
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Narrative therapy
Somatic and yoga-based approaches
We're a small practice deliberately. You won't be assigned to whoever has an opening — we'll talk first and match you to the right person.
We see clients in person at our office in Tustin, and online anywhere in California. Our clients come from Tustin, Irvine, Santa Ana, Orange, Costa Mesa, and across Orange County — and from all over the state online.
